Brisbane Wedding Photographer | Ricky & Ruth’s Destination Wedding, Sanur Bali

I was honoured when R & R asked me to capture their special day, originally to be based in Darwin the couple then decided a destination wedding in Sanur Bali is where they wanted to exchange their vows. Never having been to Bali, I was extremely excited to be shooting in yet another beautiful country and boy were my expectation exceeded. Sanur is a little bit off the beaten tourist track and could be described as having a perfect balance – Not hectic and bustling like Kuta, nor too sleepy like Nusa Dua. It’s beaches are lined with a variety of resorts , bars & restaurants from the ultra luxurious down to the no fuss basics catering for all their guests who has flown from all corners of our earth to celebrate with the gorgeous couple.

Ricky and Ruth are one of the most relaxed and easy going couples I know, even the last few days leading up to the wedding (which can be rather stressful) the bride & groom where so focused on spending time with family and friends, relaxing by the pool and having a good time that it was made me think – these guys have got it right ! Credit must be given to their extremely organised & resourceful  wedding planner, Maeline from Wedding Day Flair , no task was too big for this young lady and the fact that she could speak the local dialect  just added to her impressive list of talents.

The ceremony and reception were held in the late afternoon at the Bali Hyatt, where Ricky & Ruth ( and their beautiful daughter Kaylee) stood before their loved ones and exchange their uniquely touching vows, I even had to stop for a moment and dry my eyes. Ruth looked breathtaking in her elegant white gown, hair strewn with frangipani flowers and a glowing smile that shone through to her eyes. The Groom mirrored that same smile coupled with a constant look of awe and admiration for his new bride. The Hyatt is a rather impressive resort with a variety of stunning gardens making the creative session a very fun one indeed. Ricky and Ruth were absolute Rock Stars from the beach, trespassing  into an outdoor cinema to climbing into a boat,  the newly weds were up for anything and where a dream to capture. In conclusion,  Ricky and Ruth’s wedding was nothing short of amazing and was the perfect portrayal of the couple themselves : Fun, down to earth and full of love & laughter.

Thank you Ricky & Ruth for allowing me to capture your beautiful Wedding, it is  a memory I will always treasure.

I do warn you, there are a lot of photos below ( and could take a while to load) but it was impossibly hard to choose which ones to share.
